Make your events greener
The Green Events Tool (GET) is an integrated web-based assessment platform designed to promote and evaluate the sustainability of events. It is developed by UNEP, the UNFCCC secretariat and the Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD). The GET is suitable for mega events, conferences, meetings, exhibitions, trade fairs, etc. From transportation and lodging to paper trails, catering and energy use, the GET provides an all-encompassing approach that identifies ways to host ecofriendly events with reduced carbon footprint and other impacts.
GET Solutions
The Green Events Tool uses a three-pronged approach to help you make your event more sustainable:
Event Sustainability Checklist
The Sustainability Event Checklist evaluates events based on 10 sustainability dimensions which include organizational management, communication and marketing, supply chain, event management, social aspects, climate action, indoor environmental quality, energy, water and waste.
Carbon footprint calculator
The carbon footprint and offsetting tool helps event organizers to calculate the carbon footprint of their events, and encourages them to compensate (offset) for the non-avoided emissions.
Green Building Practices
GET provides users with an option to assess, improve and certify energy and carbon performance of the event venues, whether they are new buildings (temporary or permanent) or existing facilities.
